Ella’s Outward Bound Adventure

Greytown student Ella Butler-Peck recently returned from an unforgettable 21-day Outward Bound Korowai course in the Marlborough Sounds — an experience made possible with a $3,000 sponsorship from the Greytown Lands Trust.

The funding round has been reopened and a total of $9,000 is still available this year for clubs, incorporated societies, and community groups delivering sport or active recreation activities that benefit the Greytown community.
Trust backs Greytown RSA’s Cenotaph Project with Major Funding Boost

The Trust is proud to support a significant community initiative led by the Greytown RSA, with cornerstone funding commitment of $40,000 towards the development of a new cenotaph at the town’s memorial swimming baths.

During June and July we invited applications from local community groups, incorporated societies and registered charities for activities and projects in the areas of “social, cultural and environmental” well-being.
Trustees at our July Board meeting confirmed funding for the following groups.

Studio 73 upgrade project gets support
Greytown Lands Trust recently made a significant commitment of a $25,000 grant to support Greytown Little Theatre’s Studio 73 Upgrade Project.
Opening day of the John Gray Pavilion
On Sunday 16 February we had the pleasure of attending the opening of the new pavilion at Soldiers Memorial Park and being part of a very special moment when the name of the new pavilion was revealed – the John Gray Pavilion in recognition of John’s incredible dedication to the community and sport over so many years.

Annual General Meeting
The Trust held its AGM on the evening of 29 August at the Greytown Rugby Clubrooms. Thank you to those members of the public that braved the stormy weather that evening and made it along.
Community Funding Results - July 2024
In July we invited applications from local community groups, incorporated societies and registered charities for activities and projects in the areas of social, cultural and environmental well-being. We had $22,000 available to distribute with Trustees at our August Board meeting confirming funding for the following groups.
Historic Greytown sporting ground secured for community for 99 years

The historic Greytown Rugby Club grounds have been secured for 99 years for community use and renamed as Greytown Lands Trust Park, thanks to a watershed agreement between Greytown Lands Trust, South Wairarapa District Council, and Greytown Rugby Club.
