Community Funding Results - July 2024

In July we invited applications from local community groups, incorporated societies and registered charities for activities and projects in the areas of social, cultural and environmental well-being.  We had $22,000 available to distribute with Trustees at our August Board meeting confirming funding for the following groups.

 

$2,000         Papawai Mangarara Stream catchment Group

$1,500          St Lukes Church – Music and Movement

$1,500          Digital Seniors – Greytown service

$2,500         Wairarapa Youth Orchestra

$5,000         The Social Crust (Greytown Foodbank)

$1,400          Greytown Heritage Trust – oral history programme

$3,500         Greytown Heritage Trust – signage project

$4,600         Wellington Free Ambulance – video laryngoscope equipment for ambulance/s in the Wairarapa

The Trust also approved an application from the Greytown Sport and Leisure Society on behalf of the Pavilion Users Groups for costs to fund the re-establishment of the “clock tower” on the new pavilion building at Soldiers Memorial Park.  An amount of $6,000 was awarded from a separate funding category.
